The pre-furnace molten iron carbon-silicon analyzer is also known as thermal analyzer, pre-furnace carbon-silicon analyzer, pre-furnace carbon-silicon composition analyzer, and carbon-silicon equivalent instrument. When producing iron castings, it is necessary to select the appropriate chemical composition according to the wall thickness of the casting and the casting conditions to ensure that the required mechanical properties are achieved. All other things being equal, carbon equivalent has a decisive influence on the metallographic structure, casting properties and mechanical properties of cast iron. In ductile iron production, only a fast and accurate determination of the carbon equivalent of the raw molten iron can provide the necessary data for the inoculation process.
